Enrollment

Each May is Open House and registration for Roots Public Charter School. Starting at 9 a.m, enrollment for vacancies is on a first come, first served basis. Be prepared to spend the morning for orientation. Bring 2 proofs of DC residency, your child's latest report card, and standardized test scores. You will receive an enrollment package composed of the following:

• Application
• Enrollment Agreement
• Health/Immunization Form
• Dental Form
• Behavioral/Academic Agreement

When you turn in your completed package, you will be eligible for a space in the school. The final stage toward securing a space will be your required attendance in the Saturday parent workshops in August.

The School year will be 180+ days beginning in September and ending in June, with the same federal holidays and snow days as the DC Public School system. Student hours are from:

Pre-Primary 7 AM to 6 PM

Primary/Middle School - 8:30 am to 3:00 p.m. with an after school program this year that’s available Monday - Thursday from 3 - 6 p.m.
